30/08/2007 - Hydro Tunnel Framework Award

Scottish & Southern Energy has recently awarded the exclusive framework for Hydro tunnel refurbishment to Amco.

The three year framework includes for already identified schemes and new upgrades up to June 2010. The schemes currently being assessed include tunnels at Sloy, Striven, Tummel and Finlarig.

As well as the competitive tender process the Scottish & Southern Energy selection criteria took account of the previous collaborations with Amco. These included the tunnels at North Lawers, Kilmelford, & Nant (pictured above); the successful delivery of the newbuild power station at Kingairloch and the ongoing term maintenance contract at Ferrybridge.
