20/06/2007 - Power Station Term Contract Award

British Energy has recently awarded the electrical and instrumentation contract for Eggborough Power Station to Amco.

The three year framework includes for reactive and planned maintenance and new upgrades up to 2010.

As well as the competitive tender process the British Energy selection criteria took account of previous successful collaborations between the two companies. A further factor was Amco's ability to demonstrate best practice from their existing portfolio of power station frameworks; these include:

• E.ON: Ratcliffe & Connahs Quay
• SSE: Ferrybridge, Breadalbane, Sloy, Tummel & Affric-Beauly
• BNG: Wylfa, Oldbury, Berkeley, Dungeness A & Sizewell A

This award takes the connected load value of Amco supported power stations past 18GW, approximatley 25% of the total UK capacity.
