Eglington Feeder Station

Eglinton Street Feeder Station Works

Amco Engineering have delivered a new 25Kv feeder station construction project at Eglinton Street in Glasgow on behalf of Network Rail.

Client:Network Rail
Value:£770K
Location:Glasgow

The first phase of the project involved the delivery of the civil engineering works which included the construction of a new HV compound and secure fence line to facilitate receipt of the new containerised feeder station.  New trough routes were subsequently constructed along numerous rail routes to accommodate the 12 new 25Kv traction feeder cables. Specialist HV OLE contractors Border Rail & Plant undertook the necessary modifications and installation of new HV equipment to various OLE portals across the Glasgow central rail network.

This was a time critical project to allow new rolling stock to be introduced onto the Scottish Network and progress was closely monitored throughout by the client's representatives.

The project was successfully completed accident and incident free and the excellent standard of the works secured Amco Engineering the 2011 Network Rail Partnership Award for the Best Small Project.
