Amco were awarded the contract by the Marina Management Company on the basis of an innovative delivery solution for working in a severely restricted area.
The project works included using a "tandem" lifting arrangement to remove the lock gate and place it on temporary support beams spanning the lock entrance, the replacement of the greenheart sealing timbers and fenders and various other structural and mechanical overhaul works.
Throughout the project our engineering team worked closely with the client’s engineer, Kenneth Grubb Associates Ltd, to ensure that disruption to access routes and marina navigation was kept to a minimum. The close proximity of the public in this busy area of central London required detailed coordination and extra vigilance in relation to all site activities
